Universal Enterprises is the export and manufacturing arm of SA Steel Traders — a steel trading house founded in Mumbai in 1970. What began as a single desk on the metals market is today a vertically integrated supplier of pipe, sheet, plate, and bar and fitting.

SA Steel Traders was founded in 1970 as a trader of mild steel sheet and round bar, operating from a single godown near Reay Road, Mumbai. Over fifty-six years it has grown into a multi-division steel house — trading, exports, and manufacturing — but the order book is still kept under one ledger.
Universal Enterprises was incorporated in 2010 as the group’s export and manufacturing arm. The two companies share ownership, finance, and quality discipline; what changes is the passport on the consignment.
We do one thing, and we have done it for fifty-six years. Steel, traded honestly, manufactured carefully, delivered on time.
